The RETRO is a great choice for cost conscious buyers who want an easy to install and reliable, yet not include all the bells and whistles that make Ron Francis Wiring the top name in aftermarket wiring.  We also sell individual components and installation aids as well as a selection of mini-kits for specific applications .... all designed and created so that the finished installation can be customized to the user's preference and needs.

All Electric Solutions With Ron Francis Wiring Products, Tech Support

By Marilyn Stokes - Posted on September 10th, 2008

In doing any kit car, replica or renovation rebuild project one of the most important, and potentially problematic, portions of the job is getting the various electrical components in place and working right. A resource partner that home auto builders should know about for products and guidance in the realm of electric wiring is Scott Bowers, owner and president of Ron Francis Wiring in Chester, Pennsylvania. Scott has charted over 34 years in the arena of specialized auto builds as a street rod/hot rod builder and enthusiast himself, and as manager and owner of two automotive aftermarket resource companies, The Detail Zone and Ron Francis' Wire Works. As such, Scott has spent a lifetime as developer of cutting edge wiring products for both home auto project builders and many high-profile build shops in the country, and his company contact information, www.wire-works.com, needs to be at the ready to all home builders.

Although Ron Francis Wire Works carries products-most they have developed and are Ron Francis trademarked-- for wiring and electrical applications that can apply to just about any build, the company started from a street rod background. Realizing that builders could use help with what is often one of the least understood phases of street rod construction--the wiring system-- the company mission and goal was to create a wiring system designed specifically for the DIY hobbyist that would make the task simple, but using components of the highest quality

Ron Francis Pioneered Wiring DIY

And DIY is the company middle name. Ron Francis himself was called the "pioneer of the do-it-yourself wiring kit." Color-coded and printed wires help for both installation and for any future troubleshooting. Each kit and mini kit Ron Francis carries comes with easy instructions and complimentary tech support.

Over the years the wiring systems have gone through constant re-design to incorporate the latest in wiring technology in both circuitry and materials, so that all products are compatible with the latest in automotive trends. Everything from complete harness systems to toggle switches to knobs to wiring insulation and even wiring tools are available via the Wire Works website, and Wire Works parts are also carried by many of the premier build and specialty automotive shops around the continent.

The company stocks literally hundreds of products from the beginning electrical panels and wiring to the knobs and switches, but they are perhaps best known for their easy-to-install trademarked panel groups . One of the most popular group of Wire Works kits is the Express Panel, which can be all-inclusive complete panels, or mini portions of the panels. Express systems are customized for simple attachment to a wide array of specific aiuto make and year/model applications. Another is the Bare Bonz Panel, which contains a basic 8 fuses, 10 circuits. Then there is the Retro group for cost conscious buyers who want a simple, reliable wiring to be used when conventional locations for the fuse box and switches are preferred rather than in scratch built projects.

Over the years many of the Ron Francis Wire Works products have earned prestigious awards from the National Street Rod Association. The Trans-mounted Neutral Safety Switch received "Product of the Year" award, and the Bright Bulbs and the Crash Relay were picked as the "Best Safety Product of the Year." Ron Francis has now been awarded a position as a Member (highest position awarded) of SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) for expertise in the automotive electrical field.

The best and most can be said about Ron Francis Wire Works from the customers themselves. I'm picking just a few snippets from a long read of testimonials.

Ron Arant, of Olympia Washington, a noted builder of award winning street rods and antique cars said, " I tell people, 'if you can get your pants on by yourself in the morning you can wire your own car, if you follow the directions to the letter.' Thanks again for a great product."

Bruce Matthias of Lake Stevens, Washington sent a photo of his Bare Bonz system to show how cleanly it installed and wrote, "I just installed a Bare Bonz kit and I'm VERY pleased with the quality! It won't be my last... it worked perfectly with a Detail Zone fuel injection harness. I've been bragging about you guys! "

John Trehane of Boise, Idaho sent a letter saying, "I just finished another car, but made the STUPID mistake of buying one of your competitor's kits. It seemed a little less expensive, and I had seen many of their ads. After using it, I realized what a GREAT product you have provided me with in the past. Your instructions are much easier, your wires better marked, and in short, your kits are far superior to your competitor. I am sorry it took this experience to make me appreciate your Company."

Mike Hartwell, Austin, Texas asks, "How vital is your car's electrical system? It should be at the TOP of any restorer's/hotrodder's list. Thanks for being one of the few people in the industry that has a truly high standard of excellence. Ease of installation? Heck, you WROTE that book!"
